First—the latest from the world of drones

This week we’re bringing you beauty, thanks to drones.  This article from the website Visual News highlights these incredible photos, taken by Reuben Wu.

“My aim is to portray a unique perspective of the planet we live on by illuminating night landscapes with an aerial LED light,” says Wu. “Scenes which show not only the beauty of the landscape but also the versatility and awesomeness of adapting new technology to create art.”

Now, the news from Sohn Systems:

(On a Saturday)

We went flying again last Saturday with our friends at Action Drone. We got to test out our prototype quick-change camera gimbal by flying it on our S-900.  We also got to meet new friends.  Chris from the newly-announced Action Drone UK was there.  So was Alex Fuller of  Kinofly, a San Diego based digital cinematography company.  It’s great to see San Diego drone industry companies prospering!

Jeff is continuing to work with Darryl at Action Drone on the next stage of our prototype.

It’s really important to us at Sohn Systems to support local companies. We’ve turned to Forecast 3D, right here in Carlsbad, to do the 3D printing on our latest round of prototypes.  We’ve used Forecast 3D before, and we’ve been impressed not only with the quality of their work, but also their great customer service.

As always, we’d love to hear your comments and feedback.
See you next week!
